It’s true, allot of visitors are looking for an English translation. I will write one witch includes also some experiences i made with the little boat. It is by the way sailing great and does not even sink when two people are sitting in!
Your boat is beautiful – very nicely done. I may try to build this boat later this year and I have a question for you please. How does she handle? I am a large man and she looks like she may have a tendency to roll laterally. Hs this been your experience? Thank you.
Hi kevin, thanks for the comment! I think for the small size it is surprising stable! The relatively flat and whide bottom makes it stable. But if you are very heavy, phisics may have its limits. My wife, me and some other ballast, lets say all together around 140kg was the upper limit. It still floats stable with 140kg but waves or sailing with over 15 knots of wind could be a problem. However, it is and stays a small boat… Regards alex
Hi i am very much interesting to receive some eetailled instructions how to handle the epoxide and the tape together with the cotton filler?
Because on epoxy allergy is there any other glue available what you can consider?
In order to use the boat with an adult an a child Imwould like to know your recommendation what i need to consider if the boat is 50 cm longer. Of i need more material but would you suggest to inncrease the width as well.
What are the final cost you would consider.
Hi Klaus, i am planning to add detailed guides about how to handle the chemicals and how to put it all together for a long time. Unfortunately I just never found the time for.
You can also use Polyester instead of Epoxy. Its just not that hard but most of the big sailing yachts are made of Polyester, so it will work fine for a little boat as well.
If you need a bigger skippy, the easiest way would be to simply multiply the measures of each part with lets say 1.1 and you get the same boat just a little bigger. I see, there are many people interested of a „large version“. Maybe I should draw a plan for one?
Its hard to say something about the costs. Here in Switzerland, its very expensive and you would end up with 600 Euros or more.

ich bin sehr interessiert diese Jolle zu bauen. Im Moment suche ich mir die Baumaterialien zusammen. Jetzt eine Frage zum „Sperrholz wasserfest“: reicht ein Sperrholz mit der Angabe wasserfeste Verleimung aus weil es ja noch behandelt wird nach der Bauphase, oder muss es ein Bootsbausperrholz vom Spezialisten sein?
Gratuliere zu diesem schönen Projekt, suchte mir auch eine Jolle nach den selben Anforderungen…..:-)

ich habe ganz gewöhnliches wasserfest verleimtes, Birkensperrholz aus dem Baumarkt verwendet. Wenn du alles schön mit Epoxyd Harz einrollst, geht bestimmt kein Wasser mehr durch. Welches Sperrholz du nimmst ist nicht so entscheidend, solange es dir gefällt und du alles gut einpackst hält das schon!

Moin Alex, kannst Du mir sagen, wie Du die Segel hergestellt hast? Segelmacher oder besondere Folie aus dem Baumarkt?
Hallo Thomas, ich hab es mit ganz billiger Plane aus dem Baumarkt hergestellt. War als Prototyp gedacht und hat so gut funktioniert dass ich es behalten habe. Luggersegel brauchen kein teures segeltuch…
Moin Alex, cool – den Prototypen werde auch so ausprobieren. Hast Du als Mast ein Hartholz gewählt? Oder normales Nadelholz und dann mit Epoxi und Härter und Glasband verstärkt? Beste Grüße…
Ganz normales Fichtenholz ca. 5x5cm welches ich mit dem Handhobel abgerundet habe. Fichte ist übrigens schön leicht, das war mir wichtig. Epoxid und Glasgewebe ist nicht nötig. Hatte zuerst auch Bedenken, aber er hat sogar bei viel Wind gehalten.
